Year-End Challenge Update

January 30, 2008

John Stott Ministries 2007Many thanks to those of you who joined us in ministry with continued prayers and financial support. As you know, John Stott Ministries (JSM) announced a challenge to raise $1.7 million by December 31, 2007. This amount constitutes half the JSM budget for the fiscal year (July 1 through June 30). JSM is happy to report that donations to date have totaled $1.52 million. This is wonderful news!

If you have not supported this ministry financially, I hope you might prayerfully consider making a contribution to this strategic work. Acts 12–14 details Paul and Barnabas’s first missionary journey. If you are following along with the John Stott Daily Bible Study, you will be reading more about how these two missionaries not only planted churches but also trusted God to work through the indigenous leadership in these areas to grow and mature the developing church.

JSM also believes in the local church and its indigenous leaders. All three of JSM’s programs – Scholars, Literature and Preaching – are designed under this same principle of enabling the Church to be led and to grow through local indigenous leaders. As we work together in the next half of our fiscal year and beyond, I thank you for your support and pray that the stories in these newsletters and on the JSM Web site encourage you and show you how your funds are at work.
