Donating stock provides all of the benefits of a cash contribution and more. If you have stock that you have owned for over one year, you may donate it to John Stott Ministries and use its fair market value as of the date the gift is made as the amount of your donation. This benefits both John Stott Ministries and you. You are not required to pay any capital gains taxes on it because you have donated rather than sold it, and John Stott Ministries receives the full value of the stock (less broker fees).
